Welcome to Response Services Inc
Response currently manages two post school programs for people with a disability, funded by DADHC (Department of Ageing, Disability & Home Care), Transition to Work and Community Participation. To be eligible to attend one of the post school programs at Response, individuals must be school leavers, who have been assessed by DADHC at school and meet the criteria determined by DADHC. We offer these programs in Newcastle and on the Central Coast.
Response has been providing quality services to people with disabilities for over ten years. Our staff are well qualified and skilled in developing programs, training and employing support strategies aimed at ensuring people with disabilities maximise their potential and their participation within the community.
The focus of our service is derived from our practice of Person Centred Planning, where individuals attending Response identify goals and develop a plan to achieve those goals. The plans are documented they are 'live' and continually evolving as the individual's interests, abilities and skills develop. As a consequence, activities offered by Response may also change depending on the goals identified and the resources available. However the focus of all of our activities is to promote autonomy, self determination and empowerment in a warm, welcoming, non-threatening environment that encourages individuals to start their transition from school with on going support and direction.
Response operates Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm, 48 weeks per year.
Response does not provide transport but does provide travel training and pick-up services from transport hubs, e.g. Gosford Railway Station.
Response does not charge fees to access the service but individuals pay for any activities they are involved in.
